Olive Children for Gaza: our Ramadan partnership with The Big Heart Foundation and Taawon

Most of what we do at Olive & Foam is built around a single, ongoing commitment: planting olive trees in Palestine with every order. It's a quiet, long-term way of giving back — rooted in the land, growing slowly, season after season.

Last Ramadan, we did something different.

Olive Children for Gaza

In partnership with The Big Heart Foundation and Taawon, we joined the Olive Children for Gaza (أطفال الزيتون) campaign — a Ramadan initiative dedicated to supporting children in Palestine. For the full month, we donated 20% of all sales across Olive & Foam directly to this cause.

This wasn't about trees. It was about children — their safety, their wellbeing, and the urgent needs that don't wait for a harvest season.

Why we stepped outside our usual commitment

Olive trees are central to who we are. They represent patience, heritage, and a future worth planting for. But last Ramadan, we felt that the most meaningful thing we could do was respond to what was happening right now — not next season, not in three years when a sapling bears its first fruit, but immediately, for children who needed support in that moment.

The Big Heart Foundation and Taawon have long-standing, trusted infrastructure on the ground in Palestine. Partnering with them meant that every dirham donated had a direct, accountable path to the children it was meant to reach.

What this means going forward

Our tree-planting initiative continues with every order, every day of the year — that commitment hasn't changed. But we also believe that giving back should be able to flex when circumstances call for it. Sometimes that means a tree. Sometimes, like last Ramadan, it means standing with organisations already doing the urgent work that children in Gaza need most.

We're grateful to everyone who shopped with us last Ramadan, knowingly or not, as part of this. Twenty percent of every order — a shampoo, a hand wash, a gift set — became part of something larger.
